What the extension can see, and what it keeps
The scan is read-only. To find your subscriptions, the extension looks at message metadata: who sent it, when, and whether it carries an unsubscribe header. That's how it builds the list of senders you can leave.
We don't store your message bodies. The content of your email stays in your Gmail account. Our servers keep what's needed to run the product for you: your account email, the senders you chose to unsubscribe from, and the result of each attempt, so we can show you what worked.
We never sell or share your data. No advertising products, no "anonymized insights," no market research. This category has a history here (we wrote about the Unroll.me case), and our answer is structural: the business model is Pro subscriptions, visible on the pricing section, so there is nothing else the data needs to pay for.
What happens when you unsubscribe
We use each sender's official mechanism, in order of reliability: one-click unsubscribe (RFC 8058) first, then unsubscribe-by-email, then the sender's unsubscribe link. Unsubscribe emails are sent from your own Gmail address, exactly as if you had sent them by hand, and you can see them in your Sent folder. We create no Gmail filters and we never touch mail you didn't ask us to touch.
Google's rules, and our place in them
Gmail Unsubscribe uses Google's official Gmail API under OAuth. You grant access on Google's own consent screen, and you can revoke it at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. In practice that means Gmail data is used to provide the features you see, and for nothing else.
Deleting your data
Revoking access stops the extension immediately. If you also want your account record and unsubscribe history deleted from our servers, email support@usebaxter.com from the address you signed up with and we'll delete it.
